The North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District marks National EMS Week, May 16 to 22, with ambulance tours at Incline Elementary School and Lake Tahoe School, teaching students about the 911 system and recognizing medical emergencies.

Effective May 6, 2021, the North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District closed open public burning and stopped issuing permits for solid fuels such as pine needles and slash piles. Fuel-fired appliances are allowed by permit only.
