The North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District put a new 25-foot rescue boat into service on Lake Tahoe, funded by a donation from the Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation. The vessel supports fire, search and rescue, and patient care operations.

The Fire District reminds residents that all consumer fireworks are illegal to possess or use anywhere in the Tahoe Basin. With public displays cancelled and fire restrictions in place, solid-fuel burning and open flame remain prohibited.
