The Tahoe Fire & Fuels Team may continue burning piles on Lake Tahoe's northwest shore this week, weather permitting, with operations expected to continue through spring. Smoke will be present. Project maps are posted at tahoelivingwithfire.com.

Effective April 11, the North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District will close open public burning and stop issuing burn permits for solid fuels such as pine needles and slash piles. Permitted fuel-fired appliances, propane, and charcoal grills are still allowed.
