The Tahoe Fire and Fuels Team is running the Lake Tahoe Wildfire Awareness Campaign from May through October, focused on defensible space, evacuation readiness, and wildfire prevention as the region enters a third year of drought.

The National Weather Service is forecasting a hot, dry summer after the driest winter on record across California and Nevada, with above normal fire potential expected across the Lake Tahoe Basin in June and July.
