Weather permitting, the North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District will conduct pile burning January 18 to 29 in the area north of Sweetwater Road, east of Tomahawk Trail and Fairview Boulevard, south of State Route 431. Smoke may affect the area for 48 to 72 hours.

Conditions and weather permitting, the Tahoe Fire and Fuels Team will conduct widespread prescribed fire operations in the basin this week. Smoke may be visible, and residents can sign up for email notifications.
