Tahoe Fire & Fuels Team forest thinning projects continue around Lake Tahoe through fall 2025, conditions permitting, reducing excess vegetation on public lands to protect communities from wildfire.

Federal, state, local, and tribal partners renewed the Lake Tahoe Basin Multi-Jurisdictional Fuel Reduction and Wildfire Prevention Strategy, a 10-year plan for forest treatments and community preparedness.
