Tahoe Fire & Fuels Team forest thinning projects continue around Lake Tahoe through fall 2025, conditions permitting, removing excess vegetation on public lands to reduce wildfire risk near communities.

NLTFPD and IVGID are starting the Worm Wildfire Fuels Mitigation Project, a two-phase treatment of 142.6 acres above Highway 431 to build a vegetation buffer between forest and Incline Village neighborhoods.
