With winter weather arriving, North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District lifted solid fuel restrictions in Incline Village and Crystal Bay effective November 7. Free permits for open burning are now available by appointment.

Fire agencies remind residents to dispose of fireplace and wood stove ashes safely this winter. Let ashes cool at least 96 hours, place them in a covered metal container, and keep it well away from structures.
