FIRE RESTRICTIONS IN EFFECT JUNE 26, 2023
Summer fire restrictions take effect June 26 in Incline Village and Crystal Bay, prohibiting solid fuel including charcoal and wood. Gas fire pits and grills are also banned during Red Flag Warnings.
Forest Service to burn piles near South Lake Tahoe
The Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit is scheduled to burn piles on the east side of Fallen Leaf Lake starting June 20, with ignitions around 10 a.m. Smoke will be present.
SUMMER WATER SAFETY PROGRAM
The District's annual Summer Water Safety Program, held at Sand Harbor, taught 3rd through 5th grade students water, boating, and sun safety with help from IVGID Aquatics and Nevada State Park.

The District has adopted Fire Aside's defensible space evaluation software, funded by the Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation, replacing paper checklists and giving residents property-specific risk information.
