October 29, 2023 is the last day to request chipping and defensible space inspections for the season in Incline Village and Crystal Bay. To date the Fire District has completed 651 inspections and 194 chipping requests this season.

The Tahoe Fire & Fuels Team is scheduled to continue fall prescribed fire operations. Plans include understory burning at Burton Creek and Sugar Pine Point, NLTFPD burning starting October 23, and Forest Service pile burning near Fallen Leaf Lake.
