The Forest Service plans an understory burn on about 46 acres off Pioneer Trail near South Lake Tahoe between June 9 and 24, conditions permitting. Smoke will be present and staff will answer questions at a roadside information booth.

Seasonal open burning of wood, slash, and needle piles closes May 31, 2024, in Incline Village and Crystal Bay. Permitted recreational fires and barbeque grilling remain allowed under specific safety guidelines.
