The fire district is taking sign-ups for free defensible space evaluations and curbside chipping ahead of wildfire season. Evaluation requests get a scheduling call within two weeks; chipping is completed as crews are available.

The Tahoe Fire and Fuels Team is launching the Lake Tahoe Wildfire Awareness Campaign for Wildfire Awareness Month, running May through October under the theme Get Defensive, Create Defensible Space, with events across the basin.
