Under Resolution 16-01, the Fire District set service fees and new plan submittal procedures for fire alarm, sprinkler, and extinguishing systems, effective July 1, 2016. Plans and fees go through the District rather than Washoe County.

The Fire District adopted the 2018 International Fire Code, effective January 2019, along with the 2018 Wildland Code and related resolutions covering defensible space, WUI decking, and building requirements.
