The Tahoe Fire and Fuels Team reminds residents and visitors that recreational and charcoal fires using solid fuels are banned on public and private property across the Lake Tahoe/Truckee region through the end of November or until rescinded. Gas appliances are also prohibited during Red Flag Warnings.

Citing extreme fire danger in the Lake Tahoe Basin, the North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District has banned charcoal use, effective immediately and until further notice, including at IVGID parks and beach grilling areas. Open flames are also prohibited during Red Flag Warnings.
