After meeting on the Southern California fires, Lake Tahoe Basin fire chiefs are pressing residents on home hardening and defensible space to cut the risk of wind-driven ember ignitions and structure-to-structure spread.
Pile burning continues on the east and northeast shores this week. Forest Service crews burned about 160 acres of piles on the East Shore the prior week.
